Gogebic County Board approves budget amendments, claims and retirement credit

At its April 23 meeting, the Gogebic County Board of Commissioners approved routine financial reports, authorized payment of claims, adopted a set of budget amendments totaling $24,532 and voted to restore a deputy's partial retirement credit to full credit.

Commissioner Lorenson moved to receive and place on file the trial balance/cash & investment balance report and the General Fund revenue and expenditure control report; both motions were carried by unanimous voice vote. A separate motion to pay the presented claims, pre-paids and credit cards was made by Mr. Lorenson, supported by Mr. Peterson; a roll call vote recorded seven yes votes (Wood, Lorenson, Matonich, Yon, Peterson, Cayer, Siirila) and the motion carried.

The board approved budget amendments increasing total revenues and expenditures by $24,532. Revenue changes included: Bonds & Insurance Recoveries (101-000-698.00) increased by $7,181 (from $0 to $7,181); LVD Contribution (101-000-581.01) decreased by $3,900 (from $15,000 to $11,100); Reimbursement Clerk (101-000-676.14) increased by $6,251 (from $10,000 to $16,251). Expenditure increases included: Elections Equipment (101-262-980.00) increased by $6,251.34 (from $0 to $6,251.34); Data Processing, IT Capital Outlay (101-228-970.00) increased by $11,100 (from $120,000 to $131,100); Sheriff's Department Repairs & Maintenance (101-301-934.00) increased by $7,181 (from $17,500 to $24,681).

On personnel matters, the board approved a motion by Mr. Yon, supported by Mr. Wood, to restore Deputy Luke Bucknell's partial credit in the county retirement system to full credit for the 3rd and 4th quarters of 2022 and the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2023; the motion carried by unanimous voice vote.
