At its Feb. 27 meeting the Chippewa County Road Commission approved a set of routine motions including support for two township speed studies, reaffirmation of board policies and standard financial actions.
The board voted to support a Rudyard Township resolution requesting a speed study on Tilson Road after Manager Laitinen presented the resolution; the motion was made by Commissioner Moser and seconded by Chairman Jeremy Gagnon and carried. The board also supported a Bay Mills Township request for a speed study on Tower Road on a separate motion.
Financial and administrative motions carried earlier in the meeting: payroll totaling $254,859.90 and vouchers totaling $319,466.70 were approved for payment from the County Road Fund subject to audit; the commission also approved the Feb. 13 regular meeting minutes. Manager Laitinen reviewed Policy #5 (Board Travel) and Policy #17 (Electronic Transfers) and the board reaffirmed both. The commission approved an amendment to Policy #14 (Township Cost Sharing) to require that brine cost‑share invoices be presented in the year of service.
All motions recorded in the meeting minutes were carried without recorded dissent. The meeting adjourned at 8:53 a.m.
