Representatives of Friends of the Fair presented a drafted commercial lease for the fairgrounds structure known as the 'Turn 2 Saloon' and indicated Friends of the Fair would pay for required building repairs.
Mr. Jim Gribble presented the lease draft and the board moved to refer the matter to the Capital Improvements and Economic Development Committee to consider whether a lease is needed. The referral was approved by unanimous voice vote.
Separately, the board accepted the resignation of Ms. Linda Nelson from the Fair Board and agreed to post an advertisement to fill the vacancy. The acceptance of the resignation was moved by Mr. Yon and supported by Mr. Matonich; the action carried by unanimous voice vote.
No lease terms, repair scope, timeline or proposed lessee responsibilities beyond the statement that Friends of the Fair would pay for repairs were included in the minutes. The committee referral indicates county staff and the committee will review whether a lease agreement should be executed and, if so, what terms are appropriate.
