At its Jan. 22 meeting the Gogebic County Board of Commissioners approved routine meeting business, received committee reports and approved claims and financial statements.
The board approved the Jan. 3 reorganizational meeting minutes (motion by Commissioner Peterson, supported by Commissioner Lorenson) and approved the meeting agenda with an added Other Matters item (motion by Commissioner Wood, supported by Commissioner Cayer). Committee reports from Ambulance, Finance/Budgeting & Auditing and Personnel & Negotiations were received; the board approved items “a” and “b” from the Personnel & Negotiations report (motions by Commissioner Lorenson, supported by Commissioner Matonich and Mr. Cayer).
The board approved the trial balance/cash & investment balance and the general fund revenue and expenditure control reports and voted to pay claims, pre‑paids and credit card charges as presented; the claims motion (mover: Mr. Wood; seconder: Mr. Cayer) passed on a roll call vote with seven yes and zero no votes. The board also voted unanimously to send a letter of appreciation to the City of Wakefield Electrical Department for assistance restoring power at the fairgrounds after a fire (motion by Commissioner Lorenson, supported by Commissioner Wood).
The meeting adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
