Gogebic County board approves MDOT airport design contract, signs off on finances and mental health board appointments

The Gogebic County Board of Commissioners on Feb. 11 approved a contract with the Michigan Department of Transportation to begin the design phase for acquiring snow-removal equipment at the Gogebic-Iron County Airport, approved routine financial reports and claims, and appointed three members to the Gogebic Community Mental Health Board.
Commissioner Lorenson moved and Commissioner Matonich supported approval of the county–MDOT contract for the airport design phase; the board approved the contract and authorized signatures by unanimous voice vote. The board also approved the trial balance / cash & investment balance and the general fund revenue and expenditure control reports as presented and placed them on file.
On claims and accounts, Commissioner Lorenson moved and Commissioner Peterson supported payment of claims and pre-paids with the addition of a WUPPDR invoice; a roll call recorded six yes votes and the motion carried. Commissioner Yon moved and Commissioner Peterson supported appointing Colleen Kichak, Gayle Maslakow, and Peter Tacconelli to the Gogebic Community Mental Health Board and to re-advertise to fill the remaining vacancy; the board carried that motion by unanimous voice vote.
