County clears Pine Mountain for two August events, sets veterans picnic for July 27

The Dickinson County Board of Commissioners approved several parks and events items at its July 22 meeting, clearing Pine Mountain and Veterans Park for community events in late July and early August.
Commissioner Joe Stevens moved to approve a facility-use request from 22EventLive to host a race that would use the Pine Mountain stairs and Veterans Park as a staging area on Aug. 3, 2024; the motion passed unanimously. A separate facility-use request from Tour de Dickinson/DTN initially listed an incorrect date; Commissioner Barbara Kramer moved an amendment to correct the date, and after the amendment the board approved use of Pine Mountain for Tour de Dickinson staging on Aug. 4, 2024. The board also noted a Veterans Picnic and Veteran Concert set for July 27.
All motions were recorded as carried with “All Ayes.” The approvals authorize event organizers to proceed with county permits and staging on the approved dates; organizers and departments will coordinate logistics under existing county policies for facility use.
