Board members received an update Aug. 5 on the procurement for the Drummond V naval-architect contract.
Director Pete Paramski said staff submitted the selection to Lansing and the submission was randomly selected for an audit review, which could slow the process but does not reflect a deficiency in the submittal. A selection committee that included Finance Director Akemi Gordon, Director Pete Paramski and Lead Mechanic Brandon Rairigh evaluated four bids and selected a firm based on the RFQ criteria; staff will finalize contract details, including price negotiations, once Lansing/MDOT completes its review and provides approval.
The minutes note the board has not yet issued a formal notice of award and that the contract announcement will follow MDOT approval.
