Charlevoix County board approves $937,450 in November expenditures, reappointments and CDBG generator grant

The Charlevoix County Board of Commissioners at its Dec. 10 meeting approved routine business including a monthly expenditures resolution totaling $937,450, several board reappointments and a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) generator grant agreement.
As part of the consent agenda, the board accepted Resolution #25-162, which the Audit Committee recommended, approving November invoices and expenditures in the amount of $937,450.00. The consent agenda motion was moved by Commissioner Tim Kenney, seconded by Commissioner Annemarie Conway, and carried on a 6-0 roll-call vote.
Commissioner Chris Christensen moved, and Commissioner Scott Hankins seconded, a motion to reappoint Emily Selph to the Brownfield Redevelopment Board; Joni Hosler to the Fair Board; Matthew Cunningham and Sherman Chamberlain to the Planning Commission; and Mike Castiglione to the Workforce Development Board. That motion also carried 6-0.
Emergency Manager Sienna Wentz presented a draft CDBG Generator Grant Recipient Agreement. Commissioner Scott Hankins moved to approve the agreement after removal of the draft watermark; Commissioner Annemarie Conway seconded the motion, which passed on a 6-0 roll-call vote.
The board also reviewed a draft letter to CCE 911 Central Dispatch documenting an urgent communications failure affecting a portion of Beaver Island and reached consensus to send the letter with additional historical context to Cheboygan and Emmet county commissioners and all CCE Board members.
No contested votes or amendments were recorded on these items; each motion carried unanimously according to the meeting minutes. The board scheduled its organizational meeting for Jan. 7, 2026.
