Benzie County commissioners reject Central Dispatch quality‑assurance software purchase after cost questions

An initial motion to approve GovWorx for an initial yearly cost of $16,000 (covering QA, TRAIN and HIRE modules) was moved but withdrawn because the mover and seconder said there was confusion about the total cost. After further discussion the item returned later in the meeting: Commissioner Tim Markey moved, and Commissioner Christina Trigg seconded, to proceed with QA software and CAD integration with GovWorx and ID Networks not to exceed $16,000 to be paid over fiscal years 2026 and 2027 with a net increase of $11,000. Only Commissioners Markey and Trigg voted in favor; Chair Art Jeannot and Commissioners Rhonda Nye, Bob Roelofs and Gary Sauer voted no, and the motion failed.
Cory Ellis was present to answer technical questions about the quote and integration. Commissioners cited uncertainty about the full cost and the board asked that the item be brought back with clearer cost detail before any approval.
