Benzie County board approves routine financial items and a policy‑software purchase

Benzie County commissioners voted Dec. 9 to approve routine financial and administrative items, including payment of county bills totaling $509,762.20, adding an additional county check signer, and authorizing a multi‑year policy-tracking software purchase for public‑safety offices.
On a motion by Tim Markey and seconded by Bob Roelofs, the board approved payment of bills from Nov. 21 through Dec. 4, 2025, in the amount of $509,762.20; the roll‑call vote was unanimous. The board also authorized Patricia Leasure as an additional signer on Benzie County financial transactions in a unanimous roll‑call vote.
The board approved purchase of PowerDMS Policy+ for Central Dispatch, the Sheriff’s Office and EMS in a cost‑shared arrangement, with year‑one costs not to exceed $16,226.10, year‑two $14,515.05 and year‑three $16,042.95; funding will come from the departments’ respective budgets. Sheriff Kyle Rosa and Cory Ellis answered commissioners’ questions during the discussion. The motion carried unanimously on roll call.
These actions were recorded as part of the board’s consent and new‑business items during the Dec. 9 meeting.
