Ontonagon County commissioners approve routine payments, payroll and remonumentation contract

The Ontonagon County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine consent and administrative items during its April 15, 2025 meeting, carrying each motion by unanimous vote.
Commissioner Cane moved and Commissioner Bourdeau supported approval of payment of the bills and payroll reconciliation as presented; the board recorded the current bills total as $86,356.01 across county funds, prepaid bills for 03/13/2025–04/09/2025 totaling $280,179.07, and payroll for pay periods ending 03/14/2025 and 04/28/2025 totaling $188,241.88.
The board also approved a set of separate motions, each carried 5-0: allowing Commissioners Nykanen, Bourdeau and Store to attend the UPACC spring conference; formally approving payment to Ruotsala Construction; hiring Bruce Seid as airport maintenance; appointing Andrea Aho to the jury board; and adopting budget amendment 2025-02.
By motion of Bourdeau supported by Nousiainen, the board approved the county’s 2025 Equalization valuation as reported on form L-4024 and the updated MERS Health Care Savings Program participation agreements for employees. The board authorized a $150 advertisement in the MI-TRALE map and approved a remonumentation proposal from Timberline Land Surveying for 11 corners at a contract price of $19,800.
Committee and department head reports were listed as none; there were no agenda requests or public comments recorded. The meeting was adjourned to the call of the chair at 4:25 p.m.
