Dubois County to advertise $60,000 wage study to review pay and benefits

President Michael W. Kluesner opened discussion on options for studying county employee wages. Board member Ryan Craig distributed a proposal from Waggoner, Irwin, Scheele & Associates priced not to exceed $60,000 to conduct a wage study, review job classifications, perform a compensation analysis and carry out a benefits survey.
Council members discussed the need to ensure internal equity and fair wages tied to job value and to include the value of insurance benefits in any analysis. Following discussion, the Council agreed to advertise an additional appropriation to fund the study with a not-to-exceed amount of $60,000.
Final selection of the consultant and award of funds will follow the advertisement and any required approval hearings.
