Roger Pund, representing the Property Rights Alliance, presented a proposed resolution opposing the Mid-States Corridor during the June 23 Dubois County Council meeting and opened the floor to public comment.
Multiple residents and attendees provided packets and remarks opposing the corridor. Mark Nowotarski submitted informational materials and, along with Theresa Kendall, Bob Pfister and Tom Bartelt, expressed concerns about access points, safety issues, the potential loss of family farms, and impacts a bypass route could have on nearby cities. Sue Krampe invited interested residents to Alliance meetings held at the Schnitzelbank restaurant in Jasper every other Thursday at 7:00 p.m.
President Michael W. Kluesner thanked the public for their comments. The council did not take action on the proposed resolution during the meeting.
The public comment was recorded as part of the meeting minutes; no votes or motions to refer or adopt the resolution are recorded.
