County approves Purdue Extension reorganization, probation staffing change and a JRAC contract

Dubois County commissioners on June 16 approved staffing changes in Purdue Extension and the Probation Office and authorized a one‑year contract to support the county JRAC program.
Purdue Extension County Agent Director Chelsea Brewer requested eliminating an Administrative Assistant and a part‑time seasonal position and creating a full‑time bilingual Program Assistant (35 hours per week; COMOT III wage classification). The board unanimously approved eliminating the two positions and adding the bilingual program assistant.
Chief Probation Officer Jennifer Lampert and Circuit Court Judge Nathan Verkamp asked the board to reassign duties to relieve the Juvenile Probation workload. The commissioners unanimously approved eliminating the current Probation Assistant and creating a Juvenile Probation Officer effective June 15, 2025, with salary to follow the Probation Officer Minimum Salary scale.
Lampert also presented a contract with Community Solutions to provide services supporting Dubois County JRAC from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, at a total cost of $22,000 — $10,000 from JRAC and $12,000 from the Opioid Settlement Matching Grant. The board approved the Agreement, which may be extended by mutual agreement.
