Purdue Extension County Agent Director Chelsea Brewer asked the Dubois County Commissioners to restructure support staff in the Extension office by eliminating a vacant Administrative Assistant position and creating a second Program Assistant position that requires bilingual proficiency.
Brewer said the new Program Assistant would collaborate with Purdue Extension and ALASI to deliver educational programming and outreach tailored to the county’s growing Hispanic community and to support the Junto 4-H club. Christian Blome and Rossina Sandoval from ALASI attended and voiced support for the proposal. The Commission was told the new position would be classified COMOT III and carry the same financial cost as the current Administrative Assistant; the Administrative Assistant duties would shift to the Office Manager.
Job descriptions were provided for review. The Commissioners will review the request and make a determination at their June 16, 2025 meeting at 11:00 a.m.
