The Stark County Weed Control Board held its regularly scheduled meeting Jan. 25 and took a series of routine actions, including approving the agenda, the 2024 financial reports, and the September meeting minutes.
Motions recorded in the minutes show Paul Clarys moved to approve the agenda (Greg Messer seconded); David Wanner moved to approve the 2024 financial report (Shelly Ziman seconded); and Paul moved to approve the September minutes (Caden Tuhy seconded). Members also approved travel vouchers from a November meeting that was not held due to lack of quorum (motion by Greg Messer; second by David Wanner).
On procurement, the board set a call for herbicide bids with a motion by Paul to open bids at the March 26, 2025 meeting (Caden seconded). The board noted an F-150 pickup was purchased using $40,000 in 2025 budgeted funds plus $7,059 in TAG funds that will be reimbursed by the NDDA, and recorded that Travis Jepson and Jo Thompson will attend the North Dakota Weed Control Association annual conference Feb. 4–6 in Bismarck.
The board scheduled its next meeting for March 26 at 10:00 a.m. and adjourned at 11:10 a.m. after a motion by Paul and a second from Greg. The minutes record actions and approvals but do not include dissenting votes or abstentions.
