Grant County approves bills, contractor payments and preliminary 2025 budget with pay increases

Commissioner Marty Meyer moved to approve the list of county bills totaling $39,042.32; Commissioner Al Roy Hochhalter seconded and the motion passed on a roll call vote with all three commissioners recorded as voting aye. The minutes include the vendor list and amounts presented to the board.
The board also approved motions to pay: Doug Zacher for 128 cubic yards of dirt at $4.00 per yard; Donnie Roth for 840 cubic yards of dirt at $4.00 per yard; and Jon Mueller for 48 yards of rock at $10.00 per yard. Each payment motion carried on recorded roll-call votes (Meyer—aye, Hochhalter—aye, Zenker—aye).
Commissioner Meyer moved and Commissioner Hochhalter seconded approval of a 3% salary increase for 2025 for all salaried employees except the Planning and Zoning Administrator and the 911 Emergency Service position, and a $1.00-per-hour wage increase for all hourly employees. The preliminary 2025 budgets were approved as amended to reflect these salary and wage changes.
The meeting minutes record the board adjourning at 1:40 p.m. and announce upcoming meetings and the Sept. 11, 2024 budget hearing in the courthouse.
