Grant County Water Resource District seeks 2025 appropriation; board appoints Harold Gaugler

Representatives of the Grant County Water Resource District met with the Grant County Commissioners on July 17 to request a 2025 appropriation and to recommend a governance appointment.
Gerald Christensen, chair of the Water Resource District, joined Gary Meyer, Harold Gaugler and Julie Levorsen to present the district’s budget request and to recommend Gaugler for a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2025. Commissioner Marty Meyer moved to appoint Gaugler; Commissioner Al Roy Hochhalter seconded. The board recorded roll-call votes of Meyer—aye, Hochhalter—aye and Chairman Alton Zenker—aye, and the motion carried.
The appointment was recorded in the minutes as an action arising from the district’s request; the minutes note the appropriation request was discussed but do not record a final appropriation amount or vote in these minutes. Auditor Sara Meier will process appointment paperwork as part of normal administrative follow-up.
