Grant County commissioners approve $106,335.52 in bills, approve agenda and minutes

Chairman Alton Zenker called the May 15, 2024 meeting of the Grant County Board of Commissioners to order at 9:00 a.m., and the board recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
Commissioner Marty Meyer moved to approve the meeting agenda; Commissioner Al Roy Hochhalter seconded and the motion passed with all present voting aye. Meyer then moved to approve the board’s May 1, 2024 regular meeting minutes; Hochhalter seconded and the minutes were approved with all voting aye.
The board reviewed the treasurer’s report and proceeded to consider bills for payment. Commissioner Meyer moved to approve bills totaling $106,335.52; Commissioner Hochhalter seconded. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with Meyer, Hochhalter and Zenker voting aye.
Major line items listed on the payment register included Statewide Services Inc. for $39,740.00 and Farstad Oil Inc. for $24,249.73; the register also listed smaller vendor payments such as A&S Country Market ($80.15) and Jacobson Memorial Hospital ($169.60). The board did not record further discussion or abstentions on the payments.
The meeting continued with new business after the board completed its routine approvals. Chairman Zenker adjourned the session at 12:50 p.m.; future meetings were scheduled for June 5 and June 19, 2024.
