The Cavalier County Commission on June 18 handled routine county business, approved vendor claims and set a starting bid on a surplus parcel.
Commissioners unanimously approved the meeting agenda (motion by Austin Lafrenz, seconded by Nick Moser) and approved prior meeting minutes and County Equalization minutes (motion by Nick Moser, seconded by Greg Goodman). Commissioner Stanley Dick moved (seconded by Nick Moser) to re-appoint Diane Schill and Austin Lafrenz to the Cavalier County Library Board; the motion carried with Commissioner Austin Lafrenz abstaining from the vote.
The commission approved the 2024 Township Road Mileage Certification on a motion from Commissioner Greg Goodman, seconded by Commissioner Austin Lafrenz.
Road Supervisor Terry Johnston and Road Foreman Sheldon Romfo updated the commission on Road Maintenance Operator hours, progress moving equipment into the Industrial Park shop, and dust-control needs; commissioners asked Romfo to provide comp-time usage details.
Commissioner Nick Moser moved to set the starting bid at $52 for Parcel #46035000 in Loma City; Commissioner Stanley Dick seconded and the motion carried.
