Jefferson Davis Parish EDC approves compilation engagement with Langley, Williams & Co.; CEO reports $5,000 Clean Biz grant to chamber

Creed Romano, CEO/President of the commission, summarized recent regional outreach, saying commissioners and staff attended Southwest Louisiana and One Acadiana/LED critical stakeholder meetings and that a delegation will attend One Acadiana's regional celebration in Lafayette on Dec. 12, 2024. He also noted that the Louisiana Association of Facility Administrators (LAFA) will meet in Lacassine on Dec. 18, 2024.
A motion to approve the Langley, Williams & Company compilation engagement was moved by Beau Hearod and seconded by Dr. Shane Fontenot; the motion passed unanimously. The meeting record shows similarly unanimous votes to approve the meeting agenda (moved by Marilyn Watkins and seconded by Beau Hearod) and to approve the minutes of the Nov. 13, 2024 meeting (moved by Dr. Shane Fontenot and seconded by Marilyn Watkins).
Romano also reported that the Jeff Davis Chamber of Commerce received a $5,000 Clean Biz Program grant. The CEO provided the grant amount and program name during his report; no additional funding breakdown or conditions were recorded in the minutes.
The commission scheduled its next meeting for noon on Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2025, at First Guaranty Bank in Jennings. A motion to adjourn, moved by Dr. Shane Fontenot and seconded by Beau Hearod, passed unanimously. Creed Romano certified the minutes of the Dec. 11 meeting.
