Whitfield County Chairman Jevin Jensen called a budget work session to order at 4:35 p.m. Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at the courthouse BOC training room in Dalton to continue discussion of the county’s proposed 2026 budget. Chief Finance Officer Debbie Godfrey reviewed an updated draft of the 2026 budget for the commissioners; no motions or votes were taken during the meeting.
The review covered the updated 2026 budget document and related revisions, according to the minutes. Debbie Godfrey, chief finance officer, discussed the changes with the board and answered questions from commissioners and staff. County Administrator Robert Sivick and County Attorney Robert Smalley were listed as present; multiple department heads and members of the press also attended.
Chairman Jevin Jensen noted that the session was convened for further discussion of the 2026 budget. The minutes state that the board did not take any formal action during the work session.
