Putnam County commissioners dissolve Jimmy Davis Park advisory committee

The Putnam County Board of Commissioners voted on Nov. 7 to dissolve the Jimmy Davis Park Partnership Advisory Committee effective immediately after the committee chair presented its quarterly report.
Chairperson Janie Reid presented the committee’s quarterly report and an executive summary and asked the board to dissolve the advisory committee. Commissioner Richard Garrett moved to dissolve the committee; Commissioners Tom McElhenney and Jeff Wooten joined Garrett in voting yea. Commissioner Steve Hersey voted nay. Chairman B. W. “Bill” Sharp concurred with the board’s action.
The minutes record that supporting documents and the committee’s executive summary were made part of the meeting record. The dissolution is recorded as effective Nov. 7, 2025.
