At its Feb. 6, 2024 meeting the Long County Board of Commissioners approved the meeting agenda and January 2024 minutes. The board also authorized payment of bills; all routine motions passed unanimously.
The board made three appointments: Darrell Mosley was appointed to serve the remainder of David Edwards' term on the Long County Department of Family and Children Services board, with that term ending June 30, 2024; Dr. Kathy Simmons was appointed to a five-year term on the same board ending June 30, 2029. Commissioner Gerald Blocker moved to appoint Patricia Morris to the Long County Board of Tax Assessors for a four-year term beginning Nov. 2, 2023 and expiring Nov. 2, 2027.
Commissioner Jeremy Hall moved to enter executive session for personnel and the board entered and later exited executive session; the minutes record no personnel action details.
