Commissioner Richard Baggett moved to appoint Mindy Ward; Commissioner Jerry Green seconded the motion, which passed with votes recorded for Commissioners Bussey, Kinsey, Baggett and Green. Commissioner Willie H. Bussey then moved to appoint Shameika Rice; Commissioner Baggett seconded and the motion passed on the same recorded vote. Bussey moved to appoint Cynthia Anderson with a second from Baggett; that motion also passed 4–0.
The appointments conclude the commission’s recruitment to restore the three open seats. The commission did not set additional duties or a timeline for the board’s initial actions during the meeting. The appointments were recorded from the commissioners’ votes and the official motion language.
