Applicant to resubmit Tanglewood Trail zoning request, commission notes prior public hearing

Chairman Carvel Lewis told the commission the applicant for the Tanglewood Trail rezoning will submit a new application changing the request from R2 to R1. The minutes cite a Dec. 10 public hearing on the rezoning in which Vice Chairman Danny Blackmon opened and later closed the hearing after hearing questioners and commentators; the Dec. 10 hearing record shows the hearing ran from 6:00–7:10 p.m.
The Jan. 14 minutes record the commission’s acknowledgement that the applicant intends to file a revised application but do not include new testimony, staff recommendations or a timetable for action on the revised request. The minutes therefore reflect notice that a new application is forthcoming rather than a commission decision on rezoning.
Any future formal action on the rezoning will appear on a subsequent agenda and should include staff reports and public-comment opportunities as required by county zoning procedure.
