Pierce County commissioners approve two rezonings, deny single-family-to-agriculture rezoning for migrant housing

Pierce County commissioners on June 4 approved two rezoning requests and denied a third during their regular meeting.

A third rezoning request for 2.5 acres at 3344 Strickland Avenue in Blackshear (Parcel #034A-034), seeking to change the designation from Single-Family to Agriculture/Forestry for migrant housing, was denied after a motion to deny by Commissioner David Lowman and a second by Commissioner Randy Dixon.
