The Union County Board of Commissioners audited and approved claims during the Aug. 20 meeting, authorizing payroll and numerous vendor payments.
The minutes list a large set of approved items. Notable payments included BW payroll for the period with net payroll listed in the minutes, Knife River Midwest for hot-mix material ($183,572.12), Ulteig Engineers for fees ($76,604.50), and a DPAA/insurance payment ($161,328.88). Other vendor items ranged from routine supplies and small repairs to larger maintenance and construction invoices; the claims motion was made by Commissioner Kimmel and seconded by Commissioner Dailey and recorded as carried.
Auditor Torrez also presented suggested loss-control improvement recommendations from SDPAA/SDML WC. The minutes do not include separate line-by-line explanations for each invoice beyond the printed claims list.
