The Union County Board of Commissioners unanimously certified the results of the Nov. 5, 2024, general election during a special session Nov. 8 at the courthouse in Elk Point.
Commissioner Dailey moved to certify the election results, Commissioner Ustad seconded, and the board signed a certificate stating the results were a true abstract of the votes cast in the jurisdiction of Union County. The recorded vote on the canvass was 3 Yae and 0 Nae.
Earlier in the brief session the board recorded that Commissioners Dailey, Kevin Joffer and Ustad were present and Commissioner Kimmel was absent. The board approved the meeting agenda on a motion by Dailey, seconded by Ustad; that motion was noted as "Carried." The minutes were attested by Auditor Traci Torrez and signed by Chairman Kevin Joffer.
The board adjourned at 4:11 p.m. on a motion by Ustad, seconded by Dailey, and scheduled its next regular meeting for Nov. 12, 2024. A publication notice appears in the minutes but the total approximate cost of the notice was left blank in the record.
