Kelloggsville board hears progress report on goals, Synergy rollout and sets event dates
Summary
Board committee reported progress on parent engagement, instructional committees, community outreach and implementation of Synergy (online registration and analytics). The board also reviewed proposed meeting schedules, a Sept. 12 community celebration and revised 6th-grade camp dates (Sept. 16–18).
Board committee leaders updated the Kelloggsville Board of Education on progress toward several district goals at the March 10 meeting, reporting increased parent engagement and initial committee sign-ups, steps to broaden community outreach and early results from the Synergy implementation.
Assistant Superintendent Jeff Owen said a parent dinner and Coffee Chats produced interest in parent committees; eight parents signed up for the Reproductive Health Committee and the district is recruiting additional members for the District School Improvement Committee. The committee also reported work on a back-to-school communications plan and a KV Network document to facilitate internal sharing.
On operations, district staff reported that more than 90% of students had enrolled online through Synergy and that analytics for attendance, discipline and grades were now available by building, with staff beginning to evaluate the assessment module. Separately, Mr. Owen and Mr. Roscoe recommended holding the Community Celebration on Sept. 12, 2025, and Marissa Lanser presented revised 6th-grade camp dates of Sept. 16–18 to avoid student count day and improve participation.
Board members thanked staff, congratulated student achievements announced by Student Board Representative Serena Preciado, and adjourned the meeting at 6:57 p.m.
