Ms. Groters, chair of the Instructional Goals Committee, updated the board on two community goals: improving Rocket Registration and implementing a district Learning Management System (LMS).
On Rocket Registration (Community Goal #2) the committee plans a two‑day event offering both morning and evening sessions to better accommodate families. The team reviewed event layout and will designate a larger, clearly defined area for families who do not speak English and provide additional translators. The district will focus the in‑person event primarily on new families; returning families will have an online registration option in April.
On the Learning Management System (Community Goal #4) committee members said Synergy will serve as the LMS to provide curriculum resources to staff, students and parents through ParentVUE/StudentVUE. The district is transitioning classrooms to the platform over multiple years; Mr. Anderson is developing an LMS page for the Kelloggsville band as one example. The district is also moving building and district newsletters to the Smore platform, which the committee noted automatically translates content into the home language selected by parents during registration and supplies basic analytics. A Career Exploration page was added to the district website to give high school students information on KCTC, career tours and job‑shadowing opportunities.
The update was provided for information; no formal motion or vote related to these items is recorded in the meeting minutes.
