The Kelloggsville Board of Education was told March 10 that the district will place a renewal of a non-homestead millage on the May 6, 2025 ballot. Mr. Alcorn updated the board on the timeline and communication strategy the district intends to use to inform voters, saying the approach will mirror past campaigns and step up as the election nears.
Superintendent Jim Alston and Assistant Superintendent Jeff Owen were present while Mr. Alcorn described the outreach plan, which the board will review further as key dates approach. The presentation emphasized that the renewal is a renewal of an existing levy that expires with the 2025 tax levy and reiterated that principal residences are exempt from the charge.
The board did not take a final vote on the levy at the March 10 meeting; Mr. Alcorn’s presentation was recorded as an informational update and will be followed by intensified communications and placement of the question on the May ballot.
