Assistant superintendent proposes district Sex Education Advisory Board

Jeff Owen, Assistant Superintendent of Instruction, presented a proposal to establish a district‑wide Sex Education Advisory Board to guide sex‑education programming across Kelloggsville Public Schools.

Owen told the board the advisory board would set program goals and objectives intended to reduce rates of sexual activity, pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections among students. He said the board would review instructional materials and methods and offer recommendations to the Board of Education for implementation.

Owen said the committee would be responsible for evaluating, measuring and reporting on progress toward program goals at least once every two years, and that the final report would be made available to parents within the district.
