At its April 21, 2025 meeting, the Kelloggsville Board of Education approved routine consent items and authorized bids for a bus garage and parking-lot project.
On a motion by Ms. Townsend, seconded by Ms. Rocha, the board approved consent agenda items 24-122 through 24-125, which included approval of the March 10 minutes, a personnel report, the district expenditure report and the teacher tenure list. Mrs. Scott reviewed the expenditures: General Fund $755,169.92; Food Service $22,176.72; Capital Projects $45,129.58. The motion carried with a roll-call result of Yeas 7, Nays 0.
The board then moved to facilities business. Mr. Flores-Garcia moved and Mrs. Tanis seconded approval of the bus garage/parking lot bids as presented. The motion carried by a 7-0 vote; board members authorized proceeding with the project based on the presented bids.
Board members also reviewed a regional proposal: all districts in Kent ISD plan to support a 10-year regional enhancement millage, with proceeds distributed on a per-pupil basis if voters approve the November 2025 election. Board discussion noted that districts would use funds at their discretion; no formal millage action was taken at this meeting.
