Kelloggsville highlights senior activities and first Curriculum Night

District staff reviewed recent student events and family engagement efforts at the May 19 Kelloggsville Board of Education meeting.
Mr. Gentile reported on senior activities: KHS students attended prom on April 26, a senior game night on May 2, a Senior Sunrise, received yard signs and t-shirts, and will complete a final walk-through and picnic at Veterans Park. KHS graduation was scheduled for May 15 at Russell Formsma Field (gymnasium as weather backup); 54th Street seniors visited a Whitecaps game and will hold graduation practice and ceremony on May 21 at the KHS Auditorium with a senior breakfast on May 20. Mrs. Faulk, identified in the meeting as the senior class coordinator, arranged many of the events; Mrs. Hand will provide CPR training for those who still need it.
Jeff Owen provided an update on the district’s first Curriculum Night, an event designed to showcase new program opportunities. The district reported 433 students who live in the Kelloggsville area but attend other districts or private schools; organizers said turnout at the first event was lower than hoped and will revisit timing and outreach for future iterations.
Students Myrece and Serena offered brief comments: Myrece described prom and a college visit; Serena noted she rides about four buses a day and said she hopes the new transportation software improves routes and daily logistics.
