Kathy Allen, president of the North Lake Humane Society board, joined Tocol in distributing the photos and supporting the request. Commissioners present — Chair Mark Albertson, Vice‑Chair Barry Shullanberger and Commissioner James Williams — responded that forming an advisory committee was a good idea and indicated willingness to work with stakeholders.
The request came during the board’s 'Other Business' period at the July 2 meeting in Christmas Valley. The board did not vote on ordinance language at the session; no draft ordinance or timeline for the advisory committee was presented during the meeting. The next procedural steps will be for county staff and commissioners to outline committee membership and a scope of work before ordinance drafting begins.
