During the June 17 work session, Commissioners Assistant Tina Burneikis presented the Oregon Health Authority 2025–2027 Intergovernmental Agreement for financing public-health services on behalf of absent Public Health Director Judy Clarke. Burneikis said Director Clarke’s only question to OHA concerned the inclusion of tuberculosis-tracking funds; she reported OHA responded that the funds are allocated as a contingency in case new cases arise but could be reclaimed later in the contract period.
Commissioner James Williams said he had contacted the Association of Oregon Counties to learn where other counties stood on signing the new public-health contracts but had not yet received a comprehensive reply. The IGA was placed on the Regular Session agenda for formal action.
Burneikis also presented an OLCC special event license application for North Lake Wellness Center to serve alcohol at the '4th of July in the Park' event in Christmas Valley. Commissioners asked staff to request additional documentation from the applicant; the work-session minutes do not record what specific information was requested. Both items were forwarded to the Regular Session for action; no public comment was recorded in the work session.
