Lake County proclaims May Community Action Month; KLCAS highlights bilingual outreach and TANF assistance

KLCAS Executive Director Christina Zamora described the agency’s mission and noted that it assists residents with federal programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF). Community Resource Specialist Julia Solorio, a recent hire, said being bilingual in English and Spanish helps her serve the community and that her goal is to ensure residents understand what KLCAS can do for them. Commissioner James Williams read the proclamation into the record.
Zamora said the agency’s stated goal is to “work itself out of a job” by reducing community need through services and assistance. No formal action beyond issuing the proclamation was recorded.
