Commissioners’ Assistant Tina Burneikis told the Board the repeal is intended to simplify how the county updates fees. She said the fees charged by the Sheriff’s Office are set by the State of Oregon, so maintaining a county ordinance is redundant. Repeal means future fee adjustments can be done by Board resolution and would not require the two public hearings an ordinance amendment requires.
There were no public questions raised during the hearing. Chair Albertson opened and closed the public hearing at 10:00 a.m.; the vote followed and the meeting was adjourned at 10:58 a.m.
