Resident urges Lake County to enforce animal nuisance rules and consider animal-control officer

Dial said she has been in contact with local officials and with Congressman Cliff Bentz (her transcript reference), and that she had been "sending emails to President Trump every day until she received a response," to press the issue. She said animals picked up by law enforcement are taken to Lakeview Animal Hospital, creating expense and burden for veterinarians; she suggested fines would encourage compliance and recommended the county budget for a part-time animal-control officer.
Why it matters: Dial framed animal-control enforcement as a public-safety issue, saying her "biggest fear was someone losing a child to a dog attack." Commissioners thanked her for the input and said they would follow up with Sheriff Tague and District Attorney Charas to review enforcement and possible budgeting.
