Planning Director Darwin Johnson Jr. presented two membership applications for Planning Commission positions 3 and 4 at the March 4, 2025 work session and recommended appointing Chaylon Shuffield and Mike Paxton to fill the vacancies.
Director Johnson told the board the Planning Commission members supported both applicants but had expressed hesitation about Mike Paxton because he is a building contractor; Johnson said Paxton indicated he would recuse himself from matters presenting a conflict. Commissioner James Williams moved to approve both applicants as presented; Vice-Chair Barry Shullanberger seconded. The motion carried on a 2-0 vote.
