Lake County staff told commissioners on Jan. 7 they plan to submit a State Transit Improvement Fund (STIF) application requesting $519,060 for Lake County Public Transit.
Tina Burneikis, commissioners assistant and the county’s STIF plan administrator, said the STIF Advisory Committee met Dec. 30, 2024, and voted to recommend the proposed plan to the board. Burneikis told the board the application is due Jan. 16, 2025, and requested approval to submit the application to the Oregon Department of Transportation; the work session minutes record that action/consideration would occur in the Regular Session.
Burneikis identified the advisory committee members as John Effingham, Joni Bramlett, Nora Taylor, JP Pereyra, Melissa Walton and Andrea Wishart and said they represent residents served by the county transit program.
No vote to submit the application was recorded in the work session minutes; the board’s Regular Session was listed as the forum for formal action on the STIF application.
