The Rawlins County Board of Commissioners approved Resolution 2024-11 on Sept. 30 to levy a property tax rate exceeding the revenue-neutral rate.
Commissioner Alan A. Solko moved to approve and sign Resolution 2024-11 and Commissioner Lincoln Pochop seconded; the motion carried. The meeting record does not specify the new levy rate or the projected revenue increase.
At the same meeting the board approved minutes from Aug. 30, signed an abatement from the Appraiser's Office, and approved Rawlins County shuttle letters for authority, support and local match. The board also set Aflac Claims Day for Oct. 9 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Rawlins County courtroom. Commissioner Solko moved to adjourn at 10:01 a.m.; Commissioner Mark Mosley seconded and the motion carried.
Discussion during the session included a potential sell-listing agreement with Pine Branch Real Estate for the Public Health building; the clerk was asked to invite Diana Skiles to the next meeting to answer questions. The board also discussed land adjacent to the hospital, erosion washing dirt into the Knights of Columbus parking lot, and whether Penco could inspect the Good Samar hill road. Several procedural and administrative items were approved by motion during the regular meeting.
