Rawlins County certifies 2024 general election canvass after provisional ballot review

The Rawlins County Board of Commissioners certified the 2024 General Election Canvass at its Nov. 14 regular meeting, after county staff read and tallied 14 provisional ballots aloud.
County Clerk Rachel Finley verified the tally and certificate of votes before the board. Commissioners Alan A. Solko moved to approve, certify and sign the canvass; Commissioner Mark Mosley seconded and the motion carried.
Of the 14 provisional ballots, five were not counted: two were received after the deadline, two voters were not registered, and one voter did not present valid identification before the canvass. County staff said the remaining provisional ballots were attributable to voters who had moved and were counted in their new precincts.
The certification finalizes the county's administrative review of provisional ballots from the Nov. 2024 general election. The clerk's office retained the tally sheet and certificate of votes as part of the official record.
