Rawlins County certifies results of 2024 primary canvass; six provisional ballots counted
Summary
County Clerk Rachel Finley presented eight provisional ballots during the Aug. 15 canvass; two were disallowed and six were counted. The commissioners certified the canvass results and Finley said she will complete state paperwork for sales tax, bond and finalized election records.
Rawlins County officials certified the results of the 2024 primary election canvass at the Board of Commissioners meeting on Aug. 15.
County Clerk Rachel Finley presented eight provisional ballots. Two were disallowed — one voter did not present valid identification before canvass and one voter was not registered by the deadline — and six were counted because they were changes of address within the county. Commissioner Lincoln Pochop moved to certify the canvass; Commissioner Mark Mosley seconded the motion and it carried.
Finley said she will complete the required paperwork for the state related to sales tax, bond and finalizing the election and that work on the general election is already underway.
The minutes record the certification vote but do not list individual vote tallies for the canvass motion beyond the motion, second and notation that it carried.
