The Rawlins County Board of Commissioners convened a CVR grant conflict-of-interest hearing at 10:15 a.m. on June 28 to consider an application by Joe Vyzourek of KYVZ. The hearing was called by Deb Minkler (Rawlins County Economic Development) because Vyzourek’s aunt, Marsha Felzien, is a county employee and the relationship could be perceived as a conflict.
Minkler told the board that the matter had been reviewed by county legal counsel and the review found no conflict of interest. No members of the public offered comments during the hearing. Commissioner Lincoln Pochop moved to close the hearing; Commissioner Alan A. Solko seconded, and the motion carried.
Following the hearing the commissioners voted to approve and sign a waiver allowing Joe Vyzourek to apply for CVR-010 grant funding. The minutes record that all commissioners present voted in favor of the waiver. No further conditions or funding decisions for the grant application were recorded in the meeting minutes.
