Nelson County supervisors on March 18 approved a correction to the county's FY26 health insurance renewal, raising the Advantage 65 retiree dental and vision premium to $232 and adopting the full set of rates for active employees and retirees.
County Administrator Candice W. McGarry told the Board the adjustment was a correction to Resolution R2025-16; Dr. Jessica L. Ligon moved to approve Resolution R2025-16C and Jesse N. Rutherford seconded. The motion passed unanimously (4'0'0'00) with North District Supervisor Thomas D. Harvey absent.
The resolution formalizes Local Choice plan renewal rates for multiple plan designs (Key Advantage 250 and 500 and a High Deductible Health Plan) and lists single, dual and family premiums for both comprehensive and preventative tiers for employees and retirees. The change to the Advantage 65 dental and vision premium was the only correction the Board considered at the time of the vote.
The Board did not change tax rates or other benefit program structures as part of the vote. The correction takes effect as part of the county's FY26 insurance renewal submission to the Local Choice Health Benefits Program.
