Erie County commissioners approve multiple resolutions, contracts and vendor certificate increases

The Erie County Board of Commissioners approved several resolutions and revised Auditor’s Certificates during its Jan. 13 regular session, authorizing contracts, appointments and additional vendor payments across multiple county departments.
The Board adopted a resolution authorizing payment to Diversified Companies, LLC (recorded as #25-18) and designated Commissioner Old as the county’s voting representative and Commissioner Shoffner as alternate to the County Commissioners Association of Ohio annual meeting (recorded as #25-19). The Board also entered into an agreement with Mannik & Smith Group to provide environmental services for the County Engineer’s Campbell Street Resurfacing and Sidewalk Project for $7,681.75 (recorded as #25-20). These motions were made by Commissioner Shoffner, seconded by Commissioner Old, and approved by unanimous roll call.
The Board appointed Kevin Cannon, Transportation Planner, to the One Ohio – Region 19 Board for a one-year term ending Dec. 31, 2025.
A substantial package of revised Auditor’s Certificates was approved to authorize additional payments and leases for a wide range of county services and equipment. Notable entries recorded in the meeting include:
• Erie Blacktop — additional $22,382.20 for Landfill Drive work
• Divco — additional $30,000 for Treasurer printing services
• ICP, Inc. — additional $40,000 for jail pharmaceuticals
• Erie County Board of Developmental Disabilities — additional $100,000 to implement Help Me Grow: Ohio’s Birth to Three System (Part C)
• Gergely’s Maintenance King Supplies & Service, Inc. — additional $120,000 for janitorial services across county facilities
• Voya Financial (Reliastar) — additional $70,000 for life insurance coverage for employees
• Multiple copier lease increases and maintenance agreements across departments (Clerk of Courts, Public Defender, Municipal Court, Sheriff’s Office, Prosecutor, HR, Commissioners’ Office)
The Board also approved travel authorization for County Engineer Eric Dodrill to attend the Ohio County Engineers Conference (Feb. 5–7, 2025) and executed the Ohio Department of Transportation 2024 County Highway System Mileage Certification form.
