Trusdale Ditch project finished; commissioners create maintenance fund under ORC 6137.02

Breann Hohman, director of the Erie Soil & Water Conservation District, told the commissioners that construction of the Trusdale Ditch is complete and was funded through H2Ohio. She said the ditch improves drainage for more than 200 acres and that, under Ohio Revised Code 6137.02, Erie County must establish a permanent maintenance fund for the ditch.
Hohman said all four impacted landowners agreed to the construction and the associated assessments, so a public hearing was not required under the statute. County staff prepared a resolution to establish the Single County Ditch #141 maintenance fund in Oxford Township, and the board adopted that resolution during the meeting.
The resolution directs county accounting to manage the maintenance fund for the Trusdale Ditch and authorizes ongoing maintenance assessments consistent with the law. The motion was recorded as "All Aye."
