Charlotte County approves library state aid appropriation and several invoices, refunds

At its Aug. 14, 2024 meeting, the Charlotte County Board of Supervisors approved a series of financial motions and appropriations.
Library funding: Library Director Maggie Allbee told the Board the state awarded the library $28,541 more than originally budgeted for FY2025 and asked that the county not reduce its local contribution; Administrator Daniel Witt confirmed state law concerns and the Board appropriated $28,541 for Library Books/Subscriptions (Expenditure 20-7301-5411) from State Library Aid (Revenue 20-240409).
Invoices and appropriations: The Board approved invoices for payment of $204,357.21 for FY2024 and $1,037,191.74 for FY2025, as well as $3,390.29 received after the July meeting. The Board also approved appropriations for FY2024 totaling $29,516.52 (line items and funding sources recorded in the minutes) and a refund to Genesis Products for a tax overpayment of $3,637.51.
Community support: The Board approved a $1,000 contribution to the Dixie Youth Girl’s World Series celebration following recognition of local teams’ success.
All motions related to appropriations, invoices and the refund were carried with unanimous votes as recorded in the minutes.
